I need some guidelines on powering the CR9000x system for fieldwork.
I will be using the two modules CR9052 IEPE with all channels (12 in total).
So for my measurements I will have the base system (Power module, CPU module and POwer Supply Module) and two CR9052IEPE modules.
The logger should work continuesly for 4- 5 hours. The scanning rate is 5 to 10 khz and the channels are programmed to 600mA excitation.
I've tried the setup in the lab with a Car Battery and 500W Invertor, but the Logger works for less than 10 mins and it powers off. Does this mean that the system I use on the logger isn't supplied with enough power? As soon as I plug the logger in the mains everything works fine.
I've read some things in the CR9000x Manual regards the current drain (Section 1.2), especially Table 1.2-2 but I couldn't find a solution to my problem. They have just said that for systems that require more than 3amps a Campbell Scientitific application Engineer should be contacted.
Can anyone give me any guidlines how to solve my problem?

Are you connecting the car battery directly to the charge inputs on the 9011 card or are you using an inverter to power the AC supply that is then plugged into the 9011? Connecting directly to the charge inputs should be much more efficient.
According to table 1.2.2 the current draw should be a maximum 2485 ma so a car battery would last for the duration of your test. If you are not no doing so, it would be helpful if you are monitoring the voltage. With that information you can tell if you are reaching a point where the logger will shut down.
When you say the 9052 is programmed for 600 ma, I assume you mean a code value of 600 which programs the excitation to 6 ma.
Feel free to post your program code as it will help us understand better what is going on.
