repeat data transmission if not received on server

rawon87 Jan 23, 2018 10:25 AM

hi all,

i'm new user of CR1000

i have a CR1000 that send string via serialout to a PC which grab the data and parse it.

the only link available from the PC to cr1000 is a serial radio link connected to com1 on the logger and serial port on PC

i ran into problem when the site have a power outage for a long time (which is common).

the PC is off due to power unavailable and will miss on the incoming data

is there a way to store the string temporarily in the logger and push them once the PC is available?

i was thinking of using the data display facility from loggernet (runtime) - change the port used on the logger from com1 to rs-232 (female db9)

but the problem is, i need to push the data to an FTP server as well every 10 minutes - which i havent found the solution to

thank you

Hi,

Perhaps the easiest thing is to send data through PAKBUS commands, so the logger will know if the data is correctly arrived at LoggerNet and can autonomously manage the missing connections

Hi smile,

Thanks for replying.

I think that will solve my need for the transmission of data.

Can loggernet ftp data collected every 10 min?

I do not think there are problems, ideally if you do not have energy problems at the station could always be On Line. In fact, loggernet has its own server but does not use the FTP protocol, but through the instructions pakbus to the logger can manage in a bidirectional way the data traffic between the logger and LoggerNet
