Hi,

You say that the logger works well why? do you connect without problems with other PCs?

What driver did you download? for which device?

I'm assuming you are using a USB-RS232 adapter (which the usb driver are for). Are you seting the right Com port?

Also, if you are using USB-RS232 adapter and it worked once and not working now, maybe it's because you have plugged it to a different usb port then the first time. The computer assign a different com port number for a different usb port.

Thank you for your answers,

we assumed the data logger was operating because the sound of data collection by the multiplexer was audible (which might not be a good evidence).

Yes we downloaded a USB-RS232 driver (http://www.tri-plc.com/USB-RS232/drivers.htm) and the 2 computers we used (one win10 and one vista) were able to detect the usb cable after installation.

However both computers were unable to connect to the cr1000...

Thank you~~~

Hi,

in "device config utility" (free SW support from CS) at the bottom of all the devices there is the "unknown" option. Once the com port associated to the usb cable is selected, select the "Identify Datalogger Type buttons"

The aforementioned cable you must connect it to the RS232 port. If you still can not get the connection, with a CS cable (USB to CSIO)  or with other CS devices adapter, you could try the same procedure, but connecting it to CSIO port.

Important! The program that runs in the logger may engage its serial ports and make the connection complicated or impossible.
