The CR1000 2/18 manual does not show which way the internal battery faces and I don't see + or - marks on the board. With the battery slot facing to the right (and the large white capacitor to the left), does the positive ("nub") end face "up" toward to large chips or opposite them?
(I failed to note the direction of the battery and it popped out and spun around when I pried it out (DUH!). I'm teleworking and would have to drive a long way to open another unit just to verify the direction.)
Hi Weatherguy,
Maybe these pictures can help you a bit...?
Although its a CR1000X.

Thanks but no. Totally different battery, placement and board layout.
Found it - dug up a magnifying glass, looked at a greater angle under the square brackets with a flash light and found a + mark under the large chip end. Installed the battery and all is well. Re-learned the lesson of take a close look before removing anything.
Well done👍
