I have a couple of tipping bucket rain gauges (pulse) that I need to hookup to a CR1000. I need all 8 comm ports and I cannot use a SDM SW8A because of that reason, and my two P ports are used by my anemometers (Young). Can I use analog ports (SE or Diff) to handle my tipping buckets counting and what would be the code for such.
Hi
with analogue channels you cannot read the rain gauges, the moment of reading can hardly coincide with the pulse of the rain. This device adds 16 IO ports and solves your issues

Smile, thanks for your answer. However, this is similar to the SW8A in that it takes up 3 C positions which I cannot spare.
Sorry but its very diifferent, sdm-io16 has 16 input/out control port non only conctac input, so you can move 3 control port from logger to sdm-io16 to free 3 control port for sdm protocol
Since I am a noob on this, I think we have a semantic issue. I use all C ports as com ports and can not spare any. If the io16 can be used as Com ports, then it will not do, but it does not seem to be the case. The price of additional SDM serial Com ports is prohibitive since this is used for non-commercial purposes. Thank you.
I don't understand the situations listed but if you want to move the com ports you can use the SDM-SIO4A so you can free control port for sdm signal and new pulse inputs
Smile,
Thank you, yes the SDM-SIO4A will work, but I cannot afford that solution. This is only a hobby. Thank you.
