Hello Forum,
We have an older K&P CMB6 that has water under the outer glass lens. The manual doesn't specifically mention the best way to dry this surface. Is there a best practice for this or a general technique that works?
Thanks again
Solution: Remove sensor body body attachment bolts, remove three allen head bolts, slip upper housing off sensor body, wipe with kimwipes. That's not really written in the manual, so I'm wondering if this should be a standard field practice or not.
I don't have one of those, but wouldn't the seals (prob O-Rings? + some appropriate silicone grease) make sure it stays dry in there?
Any stashes/pockets for dessicant bags in that sensor housing?
As for Silicone Grease I'm using Molykote 111 for things like that.
Hi @Nico,
These suggestions all make sense. This sensor is unheated and so I think condensation on the exterior side of the outer lens is unavoidable in the morning. I applied all your suggestions - hopefully we can get a couple more months out of this thing.
Thanks and have a great day,
AMK
