I have an existing station (CR800 and piezometer) to collect the water depth of the lake. I am looking for a solution to get real-time data from the station by using NL201 and Hughes9502. Is there anyone deploying the system like that? Please share your experience with me. Thank you very much.
CR800 was tested with NL201 and Hughes9502. Instructions in the manual will work. Put the NL201 into bridge mode. The IP settings on the CR800 will be for CSIO IP#1.
To conserve power, you can use IPNetPower() to put the NL201 to sleep if you have times during the day when transmission is not needed. Power needs of keeping both the Hughes modem and NL201 awake is significant.
Data usage will depend a lot on how often data is transmitted.
The simple way to handle firewall security is using the KnoectPBRouter service. If buying the modem from Campbell Scientific, an unlock key for the service is included. Routing through the service. a dynamic IP account for the modem will work.
Hello JDvis,
How do you access the datalogger to get the data?
Is it able to set the datalogger to transmit the data to a fixed IP address? The later we can access the IP address to get the datafile?
Thanks,
