I'd like to setup a CR300 (or CR200 or CR200x) to simulate performing as a tipping bucket. Can one of the ports on the datalogger be setup to simulate a switch closure that could be measured on another datalogger P_SW port as a switch closure?
Start out with a C channel high. Set the C channel low for 10+ milliseconds. Then set it back high. That should register as a pulse on a P_SW channel.
Setting C1 to high will send 5V to the P_SW port. With P_SW setup to measure the count of switch closures what are the impacts of sending 5V to it? I found a solution that works connecting a low-voltage relay to the C1 port which when set high for 3ms invokes a reading on P_SW but if there is a solution that involves not having to use a relay (and also possibly not constantly dischargin 5V with C1 high) that would be great.
