I want to wire in a S load cell into a Cr1000X. The load cell returns data in a mV/V format and has a suggested excitation range of 5 to 12V. The cr1000X can only provide an accurate excitation up to 4000mV as far as I can tell.
Is there a way of wiring this sensor in without using a 3rd party regulated excitation voltage?
The manual says:"5V: regulated 5 VDC. The 5VDC supply is regulated to within a few millivolts of 5 VDC as long as the main power supply for the data logger does not drop below the minimum supply voltage. It is intended to power sensors or devices requiring a 5 VDC power supply. It is not intended as an excitation source for bridge measurements"
So I don't think I can use it for 5V as this is a bridge measurement? Or maybe it isn't?
I see that SE1 through 16 are suitable for rationmetric measurements, but not sure how to actually do these with my sensor.
The brhalf function seems correct, but is limited to 4000mV. Am I missing something, or do I need an external regulated power supply?
