I've been trying to communicate with a CR1000 via its RS-232 port and an adaptor into my laptop USB port, when i get to the section that says test communication i test and it fails displaying the following 3 messages:
Failure: 30/04/2024 16:11:04.353
transaction failure","unreachable destination","Get Logger Program Status
Failure: 30/04/2024 16:11:04.353
transaction failure","unreachable destination","check/set clock
Failure: 30/04/2024 16:11:04.353
delivery failure received","timed out or resource error
I now this cable and adaptor work as i am still able to connect to other CR1000's and CR800's. I have followed the advice given by others on other posts of a similar nature: https://www.campbellsci.in/blog/communication-problems-serial-connections and https://www.campbellsci.in/blog/determine-if-datalogger-needs-repairing additionally i have tried using the Device Config Utility but that returns the following messages "Could not locate PakBus device" and "Could not communicate with datalogger". Any ideas whats wrong?
Thanks in advance.
The CR1000 might have a setting on it, which is disabling Pakbus on the RS-232 port. If you have an adapter such as a SC32B, you can try using the CSIO port.
If you don't need to recover data on the datalogger, you can use SendOS in Device Configuration Utility to erase the CR1000 and put it in factory default settings.
