Hi,
I'm having an issue at a number of sites at the moment using the new OS28.01 (I haven't tried 28.02 as the change log says only a TDF timeout was changed)
When calling PPPOpen() to get the logger to establish an IP session it seems to not complete the transaction successfully.
All sites so far have remained connected for ~2 or more days. They are most likely online this whole time. The logger then checks every 15 minutes to see if it is online by attempting to ping an IP. If the ping fails the logger assumes the session has failed and issues a PPPClose(), delays one minute and then tries another PPPOpen(). This is where my trouble starts. I can see the modem sending the dial string and it replying with Connect 115200 but then the logger does not continue with the connection, it just times out. If I reset the logger it is able to establish a new session almost instantly.
Is anyone else having this issue?

Hi Ryan, I've just spent a day trying to sort out the same issue. I am trying to get my logger to send emails, which also uses the PPPOpen() command. I finally tried another logger and it worked as they have always done. Putting the config files side-by-side I noticed that the only difference was that the non-emailing logger had OS28, while the working one had OS27.04.
I'm now trying to see if I can reset the OS back to the old version.
Frank
Hi Frank,
Glad to know its not just me then!
To get around this issue I have just included a net timer that gets reset every I ping an IP. If i cant ping the IP for 24 hours then I make the logger recompile and it comes back online. I would go back to 27 but I'm using some of the new features in OS28.
Cheers
Ryan
Hi
I recommend that you update to the latest version. I remember a bug in 28 the PPP session opened well only the first time, then once closed it no longer works.

I hadn't noticed that there are 7 reply but I can see only 3 and the most recent is from 2015!
