Hi All.
I'm working with the Nortek' AWAC and I found it connected to a CR1000 via COM2 port as you can see at the link below:
The AWAC is sending data in RS422 standard. This signal pass trough a 422/232 converter which is connected to a 232/TTL converter and finally connected at the CR1000 comport.
My question is:
If we are able to set the CR1000 compotrs to receive the data in RS232, Why are these guys using a 232/TTL converter rather than take the data directly from the 422/232 converter?
Thanks and regards!
Most RS422 to RS232 converters I have used work fine directly on the CR1000. It looks like a port powered converter, in which case the DTR pin needs to be connected to 5V. If you take out the TTL converter, the format in SerialOpen needs to be changed.
The control ports can't drive a negative voltage per RS232 standards, but most converters work fine directly.
Thanks JDavis. I'll gonna make a test and come up soon with a report.
Best Regards.
Hi JDavis
I have an analyzer of gas that has USB port. So this port works like serial Com Port, and I can communicate with the analizer using a hyperterminal of windows. The analyzer uses one communication protocol to transfer data with commands. When I connect the analyzer with my laptop using a usb cable I see in "device manager" of windows appear a com port "usb serial port Com6" for example.
So I want to connect the analyzer to the CR800 but the only free ports are C1,C2, G. If I use an convert USB to RS232 cable I can get it?.
What options can you give me?.
Thank you
