Hello CS Community
We have had to restore our LoggerNet installation from a backup that is several months old. After restoration, as expected, LoggerNet began collecting data since the time that the backup was created. Since we already have recent data collected as of a few days ago, is there an easy way to have LoggerNet collect data from a particular time in the past network wide without having to start from the 'beginning'? I know that you can do individual custom collection parameters with Connect, but was looking for a quicker solution to catchup without downloading all the table contents from 30+ stations over a RF401 network.
Thanks.
Assuming that you know the interval between records for the tables, you can set the collect mode for each setting so that LoggerNet will collect at most a specified number of records where the number of records is your estimate of the number of records stored that have not yet been collected.
Does LoggerNet start with the most recent records, or the oldest?
LoggerNet starts by collecting the most recent record in a table. It then uses that record number to decide which records need to be collected after that. This newest record is not written to data files or sent to the cache table until all of the other pending records have been collected. By changing the collect mode, you are modifying the algorithm for choosing collectable holes by limiting the number of records that can be collected.
