another way to receive data

Is there any way to send datalogger's data alternative to the traditional one?

For example

Server (Static Public Address + Specific Port)  <------------------- Datalogger + Mobile Modem (Dynamic Public Address)

If DL+Modem can ping or "can see" Server Static Public IP , then send de data automatically.

If not, wait till the ping or any way to see the Server IP Address is available.

The "traditional" way is in reverse, Server queries DL + Modem , and if its available, DL send data, otherwise, Status Monitor show red bar in status.

Why the other way to do the "link"?. Because Server is ALWAYS available through its public IP , DL depends on dynamic ip, or other external factors.

I guess this is called "push" way of data flow.

Or another alternative , is there anyway to make the communication through a secure VPN between both parts?.

Any help , would be appreciated!

The datalogger should have PPP enabled and working with the modem. Set the Pakbus TCP Client setting on the datalogger to use the IP address of the Loggernet server. You can find more information in this blog article.
