Lightning Protection

We are in the process of setting up met data collection, and the subject of lightning protection came up. I would appreciate any input and experience from other members of the forum.

PolyPhaser http://www.polyphaser.com/ is (IMHO) the gold standard for lightning protectors, and they have some very good documentation on how to do lightning protection properly.

That said, my wind sensor got hit by lightning, and came down in 3 charred pieces, but my CR10X took no damage, so the CSI inputs aren't completely unprotected.
